Why Substack?
I’m here for you.
That’s the promise at the heart of everything I’m building in this space.
If you’re like me, there are two things that matter most: how you feel, and how you show up for the people you care about.
But here’s what I’ve learned across twenty years of reporting on health, most of us are doing this alone.
We’re managing stress, navigating change, dealing with uncertainty, and we’re doing it in silence, thinking we’re the only ones struggling.
I started this community because I wanted to change that.
Because you shouldn’t have to figure out wellbeing by yourself.

Why paid subscriptions matter
I translate the research from the fields of neuroscience, positive psychology and wellbeing into everyday language.
Together, we will learn and grow in real time.
These kinds of conversations change how you show up in the world.
In my own life, I’ve found when I invest in something, I show up differently.
And that’s what I am creating here for you.
A community where you feel seen.
And where we actually get to know each other.
Who I’m writing for
Like me, you might:
Feel the gap between how you’re supposed to feel and how you actually feel
Want to feel more connected and live life more fully
Be in mid-life, navigating change and uncertainty
Want to care for others without losing yourself
Know your daily habits matter, but not know where to start
Feel alone, even when surrounded by people
If that’s you, you’re in the right place.
I’m here for you.
The bigger picture
I spent years on TV telling people’s stories about health.
I told important stories, which needed to reach an audience.
But television is broadcast.
It goes out and then it’s gone.
Often, I never knew if what I said made a difference.
And my audience never got to know the real me.
This community is different.
This is where we stay.
You can ask me directly for tools to help you live the full, connected life you deserve.
Where we can sit as a community with doubt or uncertainty together, knowing there are others going through the same thing.
We can share small wins and learn from each other.
You won’t just be getting information.
You are part of a deep conversation about what it means to live life well.
Community is where connection happens.
One of the things I’ve learned is many of us are dealing with versions of the same struggle.
Our own needs have been at the bottom of our priority list for so long we’ve forgotten how to put ourselves first.
And we’re a lot more alone than we want to feel.
Most of us keep these feelings to ourselves.
We live lives in parallel, never stopping to check in on each other.
This space is where we stop doing that.
You will hear from me, honestly and regularly.
You will hear from each other.
And it’s a space where we acknowledge that living well isn’t something you are meant to do alone.
It’s something we do together.
My journalistic career was built on credibility.
So I’m creating this space with that same care.
Everything I share is grounded in scientific evidence, explained authentically and tested against real life (usually my own!)
This space is built on the belief that connection matters.
And that being heard matters.
I want you to know you haven’t met all the most important people in your life yet.
I’ve seen first hand how discovering new friends in mid-life can change your life for the better.
I’m grateful you’re here.
I’m looking forward to connecting with you so we can thrive together.
